HBCU College Fair

The Okaloosa County School District, in partnership with the Greek Village, invites you to participate in our inaugural Historically Black College and University (HBCU) College Fair to be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Niceville High School in Niceville, Florida. The college fair will take place from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
This event will target students in Okaloosa County as well as the general public. The purpose of this event is two-fold. It is to connect students with admissions personnel from HBCUs and build excitement and interest about college life. Additionally, the purpose is to continue advancing minority student achievement in Okaloosa County.   
A table and two chairs will be provided for each institution who registers for the event. Please plan to furnish your own table covers, back drops, extension cords, and literature to disseminate. A continental breakfast and lunch reception will be provided to all HBCU representatives in attendance.
The Greek Village will be providing informative workshops for students and parents prior to the College Fair to help students “put their best foot forward.” We also plan to have a strong advertising campaign with local media before the event. Therefore, we ask that you complete the registration form no later than August 28, 2010 so we may include your institution in our media publicity as well as on posters and flyers.
We hope you will be able to participate and look forward to hearing from you. Participants will be notified of assigned table number prior to the event. Please plan to bring information and/or promotional items to share with students and community members.
